Building your marketing function after establishing early product-market-fit
Non-marketing background founders tend to underinvest in marketing function from early on. Session will not only stress on importance of function but also provide a playbook for early stage founders.
Good morning Folks !
Early stage startup journey has always pique my interest as there are so many moving pieces which has to align to take you further in the journey. Not only that every milestone you achieve requires you to switch gears as you will be dealing with different set of challenges. As they say - What Got You Here Won't Get You There!
Customer acquisition is one such function.
The first few customer acquisitions are 'founder-led' aka heroics. The founders' relationships and hustling capabilities play an important role here. In that journey, you narrow down on your ICP (ideal customer profile) and establish an early product-market fit. However, this is not scalable if you are looking to crank up your growth.
The next phase of your organization and growth depends on how you build your marketing engine. Lots of aspects need to be kept in mind including hiring the right marketing people, evaluating the right marketing channels, planning for ad spend and budget, positioning and messaging, etc.
For this reason, we have roped in Ishaan as a speaker. Ishaan has previously worked with HighRadius in their marketing function and currently runs B2B performance marketing firm and has helped several companies establish their marketing functions. Ishaan will talk about his practical learnings around building the marketing function of a company during very early stages of the venture.
